Shivani Singh Deo has been chosen the next Country Manager for India for Virgin Atlantic, effective January 1, 2024. Shivani, the airline's Marketing and Communications Manager for the past eight years, will take over as the head of operations in India.
Shivani brings a wealth of experience from a range of industries, including retail, media, and lifestyle, to her current position. Throughout her time with the airline, she has made significant contributions to Virgin Atlantic's brand presence in India. Leading high-profile launches such as the second daily Delhi route and pushing the growth of the airline's India network are notable successes.
Virgin Atlantic welcomed Shivani's accomplishment and emphasized their commitment to nurturing internal talent in a statement. They emphasized that her promotion comes at an exciting time for the airline's growth in the Indian market. The company plans to increase its presence in India by launching a daily service from London Heathrow to Bengaluru on March 31, 2024.
"I am thrilled to be taking on this new role at Virgin Atlantic and leading the dynamic team in India," Shivani said. We will continue to push for customer needs and capitalize on India's immense economic potential."
The region's current Country Manager, Alex McEwan, will stay in his role until the end of 2023, enabling a smooth transition for Shivani when she takes over. Alex will be promoted to Senior Manager - Asia Pacific the following year as a consequence. Virgin Atlantic looks forward to a bright future under the leadership of Shivani Singh Deo as the airline develops its operations in India.
