Sheynnis Palacios of Nicaragua Crowned Miss Universe 2023

Sheynnis Palacios of Nicaragua was crowned Miss Universe 2023 in the José Adolfo Pineda Arena in San Salvador, El Salvador. During the 72nd Miss Universe competition, the outgoing queen, R'Bonney Gabriel of Miss Universe 2022, gave off the golden crown in a magnificent ceremony.

With 84 nations and territories sending participants to this year's pageant, the competition was fierce. Miss Australia, Moraya Wilson, finished second, while Miss Thailand, Anntonia Porsild, finished first.

Miss India Shweta Sharda shown poise and competence by reaching the Top 20 but falling short of breaking into the Top 10 and progressing on in the competition.

The Miss Universe Organization decided to allow married women and those with children to compete in this edition for the first time since the organization's inception in 1957. In addition, this year's pageant featured a performance by musical icon John icon.

Pakistan made its debut, whilst Denmark, Egypt, Guyana, Hungary, Ireland, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Mongolia, Norway, and Zimbabwe all made returns. Zimbabwe, for example, last competed in 2001, while Latvia, Guyana, Egypt, and Mongolia returned after various hiatuses, with others set to compete in 2021.
