Sheryl Sandberg invests in GenAI startup Simplismart

Former Meta COO Sheryl Sandberg has invested in Bengaluru-based startup Simplismart, focusing on Generative AI for smarter solutions. The undisclosed funding could reach $35 million, indicating Sandberg's strategic interest in AI and its potential to shape the future digital landscapes. She participated in the funding round led by Accel.
Simplismart is leveraging Generative AI to develop smarter solutions in automation, content generation, and personalized user experiences, aligning with her ongoing interest in technology and innovation.
Traxcn data shows that Sheryl has raised $7.14 million in two funding rounds, with a seed round in July. She has also invested in Ema, a GenAI startup that automates workflows through conversation. It creates and executes personalized AI agents using language.
NASSCOM reports a double-digit increase in GenAI startups in the country from 2021 to 2023, with half a dozen early-stage AI start-ups raising nearly $100 million in funding in the past six months including Sarvam AI leads with $41 million in Series A funding while Ema, Neysa, Vodex, and KonProz are also in the line.
Simplismart, founded in 2022 by Amritanshu Jain and Devansh Ghatak, provides services for building, deploying, and monitoring deep learning models with minimal coding. It also assists GenAI models using its high-speed inference engine. The company competes with Veritone, Comet, and DataRobot. Major investors include Accel, Anicut Capital, and Titan Capital.
