Shagufta Anurag's Startup Saltmine raises $20 Million from JLL, Jungle & Xplorer

Saltmine, San Francisco based workplace management platform for the real estate indistry has raised $20 million in series A funding. The round was led by commercial real estate services firm JLL’s strategic investment arm JLL Spark along with participation from existing investors, Jungle Ventures and Xplorer Capital.
Founded by Indian origin entrepreneur Shagufta Anurag, Salthmine is a real estate technology startup focused at transforming the workplace design process. Founded in 2017, the platform has been adopted by global corporate brands such as Workday, Intuit and BlackRock.
Speaking about the investment Shagufta Anurag, Founder & CEO, Saltmine said, "Real estate is the second-largest cost for companies and has a direct impact on their largest cost - their people. We're thrilled to have the support of our investors who are committed to the creation of great workplace experiences.”
In a statement the company mentioned that it is looking at expanding its client base in India, which remains a stable and attractive office-property market despite the COVID-19 setback last year. Saltmine will also accelerate its growth in Asia-Pacific, particularly in markets like Australia, Hong Kong, and Singapore.
Along with the capital invested, JLL has also entered in an agreement with Saltmine to sell the startup’s workplace management software to its customers, a move that will aid Saltmine create an extensive distribution channel for its platform.
Saltmine said in a statement that the fresh infusion of capital will be invested towards talent acquisition, with a focus on growing its sales, customer success, product and engineering team.
The startup also announced the appointment of Jim Baum onto its Board of Directors and Shawn Green as the company's Chief Revenue Officer.
