Advocate Yashomati Thakur, Maharashtra Women & Child Development Minister, said on Thursday that all of the Ministry's district-level offices, as well as the benefits of various schemes for the development of women and children, should be brought under one roof.
At a meeting held at the collector's office to discuss the existing Covid situation in the district and the Women & Child Development Department, she made this proposal.
She went on to say that various schemes for the development of women and children are currently being implemented at the district level through various Zilla Parishad offices, including the Women and Child Welfare Department, the District Women and Child Development Office, and others.
It would be easier for women to take advantage of different schemes if all of these offices are consolidated under one roof, she claims.
The minister called for the development of the Mahila and Bal Vikas Bhavan in the district to be expedited, saying that through this structure, the 'Small Mart' model would be introduced to assist women in self-help groups.
Women's Economic Development Corporation is a non-profit organisation that promotes economic development for women.
She also advocated for a training session for the Vishaka Committee chairpersons to familiarise them with the technical aspects.
Domestic abuse, cyber crime, the operation of the Women's Commission's office, and the One Home One Stop Centre are all under scrutiny, according to Adv Thakur.
On social media messages regarding adoption of children orphaned as a result of Covid, the minister said that careful preparation should be done to avoid illegal adoption of any child in such a situation.
Adv Thakur also added that efforts should be made to provide adequate facilities for migrant women and children.
