The Elevate Programme was developed in collaboration with Google Cloud in an effort to address the gender gap in the technology industry and advance data and artificial intelligence (AI) skills. Through this creative project, 1,000 women from 29 different countries will receive training in cutting-edge technology fields.
According to a report from the Saudi Press Agency on August 15, 2023, the Elevate Programme has an ambitious objective of training more than 25,000 women worldwide in specific technical disciplines over the course of five years. Participants in the program's inaugural phase, which started in May, receive the skills necessary for success in the data and AI field through a complete training process.
The curriculum of the Elevate Programme is inclusive and adaptable. The four-stage remote training plan for women who sign up will comprise integrated learning, recorded lectures, self-training modules, group-based synchronous learning, open seminars, virtual courses, and hands-on projects. A group of seven male and nine female Saudi trainers will lead this learning process and deliver 340 hours of demanding teaching. The two courses that make up the curriculum are technical professionals and those without a technical background.
Free training programmes in cloud engineering, data engineering, machine learning engineering, and cloud operations are available through the Elevate Programme. Its breadth encompasses critical facets of the technology landscape. The program's initial phase included participation from 300 female technical experts and 700 non-specialists from a wide range of countries, including Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, Oman, Egypt, Mauritania, the US, Nigeria, and many more.
The Elevate Programme aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals by addressing gender disparities in the scientific and technological fields and by imparting skills vital to the growth of the digital industry.
The strategic relationship between the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority and Google Cloud promotes both technical innovation and diversity. As it continues on its present path, the Elevate Programme has the potential to alter the digital industry and make it more inclusive and diverse.
