Sahyadri College launches Honeywell center of Excellence for Women Empowerment

Honeywell Centre of Excellence for Women Empowerment been inaugurated at Mangaluru's Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management (SCEM). The centre intends to equip students with digital capabilities such as Big Data Analytics, AI (artificial intelligence), ML (machine learning), and RPA (robotic process automation) (robotic process automation). The Centre of Excellence will train 100 women in innovative technologies, offer global certification from technology businesses, and assist certified students in finding jobs.
Students can participate in hackathons and the youth empowerment summit as part of the training programme, which includes 100 hours of study.
Apart from students, four teaching members will receive advanced technological training.
Students will be able to learn the ‘UIPath Certified RPA Associate' at this Center of Excellence. Through this Center of Excellence, 100 needy students in the university are able to master technology and receive a free global certification programme. They will also receive placement assistance at the conclusion of the programme.
President of Honeywell India, Ashish Gaikwad, remarked during the center's unveiling that Honeywell is deeply devoted to educating the younger generation with the correct knowledge, particularly in STEM programmes.
“It is our desire that these technology programmes must be affordable and accessible to all sections of society, all get access to high quality education to pursue better careers and build a better life. From this point of view, this engagement with ICT Academy in upskilling young lives is a significant step for us,” he said.
Suresh Babu L, ICT Academy's Head (Government and Corporate Initiatives), stated that technology has become an integral aspect of every organisation. Skilling will become increasingly important as technology advances, both in terms of employment and economic development. By engaging with businesses, government, and academia, ICT Academy is always working to create a sustainable talent ecosystem from the bottom of the pyramid up. According to him, this initiative is a step forward in serving society because it will allow underserved kids to receive training in the technologies essential for the fourth industrial revolution.
Manjunath Bhandary, Chairman of SCEM, Manjappa Sarathi, Director (R&D, Consultancy) of SCEM, and Rajesha S, Principal of SCEM, Mangaluru, thanked Honeywell and ICT Academy for establishing the Centre of Excellence for 'Women Empowerment,' which is a Honeywell CSR effort.
