Women from the Tukkuguda region united for an equality and empowerment campaign, led by Education Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy, aiming to empower women in her constituency and beyond.
The event featured a march resembling an army's disciplined formation, with women supporting Sabitha Reddy's cause, emphasizing the need for women's empowerment and breaking stereotypes.
Sabitha recalled her early days when people stated she would be confined to the kitchen if elected as an MLA. She drew inspiration from her late husband, the late Indra Reddy, who served constituents with dedication and commitment, promising to work more responsibly when elected.
Sabitha challenged the stereotype that women cannot effectively manage constituency affairs, stating that they, like men, possess the necessary skills and determination.
Sabitha is a key figure in the Maheshwaram BRS party. She has gained popularity by addressing the region's gas price increase, which has burdened women. She pledged to reduce gas cylinder prices to Rs 400 upon her party's return.
She also mentioned that the Telangana government, led by Chief Minister KCR, had pledged to increase pensions and introduce the Saubhagya Lakshmi scheme for women, among other promises.
