According to a statement made by the Russian Embassy in India, the group from the Novgorod region headed by Governor Andrey Nikitin began a working visit to India on Sunday.
The Confederation of Indian Industry met with officials of the government and business communities of the area on December 5 in New Delhi as part of its business trip. They conducted in-depth discussions regarding the potential for beneficial cooperation. At the meeting, governor Andrey Nikitin discussed the economic and investment possibilities of his province.
"Veliky Novgorod is our nation's first historic capital. A more than a thousand-year-old artefact from India was discovered during archaeological study. It was built at the intersection of trade routes. This suggests that there has always been trade and cross-cultural interaction between our nations. The Novgorod region is now a favourable location for trade, cultural interaction, and the growth of industrial ties.
The two greatest agglomerations in Russia—Moscow and St. Petersburg—are exactly halfway between us, and businesses here have the easiest access to those two Russian regions, according to Andrey Nikitin, who made the assertion.
