The announcement of the first "Women in Creativity" awards has been exciting. This Power List celebrates an IP with a first-of-its-kind index of extraordinary names and includes 25 women from the fields of music, film, OTT, content production, business, and fashion.

Rolling Stone India has a long history of highlighting and amplifying women in all fields of creation through major features and covers as a music and pop culture platform. Jonita Gandhi, Prajakta Koli, Niharika NM, Raja Kumari, Mithila Palkar, Monica Dogra, Anushka Manchanda, Srushti Tawde, Lisa Mishra, and more leaders and creatives have appeared on some of the most recent covers.

"The 'Women in Creativity' honours are designed for, of, and by women," asserts Nirmika Singh, executive editor and director of digital for Rolling Stone India. They occur at a time when women are making major contributions to India's creative revolution in the fields of music, entertainment, and enterprise. Rolling Stone India needs to record, remember, and enjoy this historic occasion.

Supported by a team that is predominately made up of women in the fields of branding, partnerships, art, business, media, etc. Brick by brick, Rolling Stone India reaffirms its dedication to equality. The 25 women who made the Rolling Stone India Women In Creativity power list will be recognized at a ceremony, on May 20th, at the publication's headquarters in Mumbai.

The 'Women in Creativity' Power List is important since women are still underrepresented in society as a whole. Rolling Stone India is a long way from achieving equity and equality. The 'Inclusion in the Recording Studio?' analysis from USC Annenberg and Spotify states that just 23.3% of the 180 artists listed on the Billboard Hot 100 Year-End Chart in 2021 were female, with 76.7% of them being men.

Insignificant numbers of women have also been nominated for important accolades; 14.2% of the 2022 Grammy® nominations in major categories were women, compared to 85.8% of men. Only 10% of head of department (HOD) jobs in important divisions like production design, writing, editing, direction, and cinematography are held by women, according to India's 'O Womaniya' 2022 report.

Additionally, just 10% of senior leadership positions in media and entertainment corporations were held by women. According to the sixth economic census conducted by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, women make up 8.05 million, or 13.76%, of India's 58.5 million overall business owners.
