The ICICI Lombard's India Wellness Index report states that for working women in large cities, their social wellness has been negatively impacted by the work-from-office culture. One of the six pillars that the study measures is social wellness, according to the report.
The report mentioned that India's wellness quotient increased slightly in the year following Unlock 2.0 when compared to the year before. The recovery is primarily attributed to significant improvements in the workplace and financial wellness, with marginal improvements in social wellness. As of now, the index is 72 out of 100. It indicates a positive trend in the use of digital health tools by more people.
The percentage of respondents who can spend time with family has significantly decreased from 64 per cent in 2022 to 53 per cent in 2023. This is a matter of concern as having a good work-life balance is a must for every individual, especially women. There is an imbalance in how people, particularly women, connect with their communities.
The research study was conducted around 19 cities where 2,052 individuals took part. The study examined variations in age, gender, residence, and the probability of their employment. The study conducted this year reveals that an increasing number of people are using digital platforms for their well-being.
