Rajasthan Police is launching women-led patrolling units named 'Kalika Patrolling Units' to prevent gendered crimes and ensure women's safety. The units, trained in self-defense, crisis management, and counseling, will patrol hotspots like markets, public transport hubs, and educational institutions. They will also establish dedicated helplines and awareness campaigns to educate the public about gender-based violence and encourage reporting.

Additional Director General (Civil Rights), Malini Agarwal said that the Kalika Patrolling Units will be wearing special blue uniforms with neon monograms and will be deployed in 250 teams with four female officers each. The program will be later expanded to 500 teams with 35 units in Jaipur initially and 10 in each District Commissionerate, with senior female officers overseeing the squads. 20 units will be placed in Kota, 12 in Udaipur, 10 each in Jodhpur, Ajmer, and Bhilwara.

ADG mentioned "Frequent complaints of eve-teasing and harassment in public spaces drove the decision to form these patrolling units. Female constables and head constables will patrol these areas on scooters."

Kalika Patrolling Units will be deployed in sensitive areas to prevent crimes like eve-teasing and chain-snatching. They will use black scooters and helmets, and a dedicated police control room and helpline number.
