The Habitat Centre organized an event centered around the empowerment of women in India titled, "Women Entrepreneurs: Breaking the Glass Ceiling" in New Delhi where Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw participated and graced the audience. He emphasized the importance of initiatives and creating positive change, highlighting the need to address societal challenges faced by women, and said that in life, "we come across occasions when something new needs to be done and one should make every effort to make it possible."
One of the woman participants mentioned "Today's program is very important, specifically for women. We get inspiration and knowledge from such programs." Another participant highlighted that women face diverse difficult challenges in society and to combat such situations these programmes are necessary. In society, men and women need to grow together and have comprehensive knowledge to tackle every situation with excellence.
Women's empowerment is the aim of such programs, which are run by the Women Journalist Welfare Trust (WJWT). The WJWT is an Indian organization founded in 1994 to support and empower women journalists. With over 800 members at present, including reporters, editors, producers, anchors, and camerapersons, the trust provides professional assistance and a supportive environment. It aims to advance women's impact in the media, create an effective media network, and provide a place for women journalists to prosper.
