In order to help 8 chosen women-founded technology firms in India, Qualcomm India and Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP) collaborated on Monday.

The collaboration will promote women’s empowerment by providing masterclasses on marketing, intellectual property (IP), and other topics to the selected entrepreneurs as well as mentorship and advice from business experts.

The 'Qualcomm Women Entrepreneurs India Network', which was established in 2020, has helped 25 early-stage, female-led companies over the span of two years.

Varsha Tagare, Senior Director, Ventures, Qualcomm Technologies, stated that women-led firms are more sort of innovative and carry a unique perspective to solve problems or any obstacles faced. They are focused on societal welfare. The initiative intends to help those female business leaders who are in STEM that is Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.

This initiative aims to provide overall exposure to the participants and not reserve them to provide lessons. The third cohort will get more benefits within the startup ecosystem, it will provide a chance to interact with various governmental organizations, as a chance to build networks with industry leaders, VCs, investors, industry associations, and other accelerators.

The Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP) was created at NITI Aayog and is operated now as a public-private partnership project with a separate governance structure.
