PV Sindhu, HS Prannoy leads India at the Indonesian Open 2023

The Indonesian Open 2023 will have a kick-off start from June 13 to June 18 2023 in Jakarta. This six-day tournament is the third Badminton World Federation (BWF) Super 1000 event of the season which comes after the Malaysia Open and England Open.

This year's tournament will see some of the top Indian badminton players including PV Sindhu, HS Prannoy, Saina Nehwal, and Kidambi Srikanth. They will lead the Indian contingent as the top players of India.

PV Sindhu is a renowned player of India who has accomplished many great titles throughout her journey. Although she faced a tough time in the past few matches at Singapore Open and Thailand Open and experienced early exist. This time, she needs to have a strong comeback at the Indonesian Open by competing with Gregoria Mariska who is World No. 9, Sindhu has previously lost against Gregoria at the Madrid Spain Masters and also at the Malaysia Master's semis.

One of the top male badminton players of India, HS Prannoy will compete against Japan's Kenta Nishimoto who is World No. 11 during the first round.

The last Indian player who clinched the title of the Indonesian Open in 2017 was Kidambi Srikanth. This year he will face Lu Guang Zu in the first round whereas three-time winner of this tournament, Indian player Saina Nehwal will be against Wang Zhi Yi.
