Priya Malik shines in the Under-20 Wrestling Championships, clinches Gold Medal

Priya Malik is an extraordinarily talented Indian wrestler who took home the gold medal at the Jordanian U20 World Wrestling Championships in 2023. Priya grabbed the position of the second Indian female wrestler to win the U20 world title after Antim Panghal.
Last year at the same tournament, Antim Panghal became the first Indian woman to win a junior wrestling world championship. In the women's 76kg freestyle wrestling championship, Priya who hails from Haryana, a 22-year-old girl defeated Laura Celine Kuehn of Germany by a score of 5-0.
Priya completed the entire tournament without giving her spirit or a single point to any of her competitors in the matches, which is a true testament to her dominance. Priya has made exceptional wins over her journey and has both the U17 2021 and 2022 and U20 titles.
The U20 World Championships are held in Amman, Jordan which started on 14 August 2023 and will end on 20 August 2023. There will be tough competitions in the men's and women's freestyle and men's Greco-Roman divisions during the tournament at the Amman International Stadium. The 46th edition of the junior wrestling championships will feature 30 Indian wrestlers, one in each medal event.
