Private Sector Bank MajorHDFC Opens First All-Women Branch in Kerala's Kozhikode

HDFC, the private sector bank major has opened its very first all-women branch in north Kerala region in Kozhikode. City Corporation Mayor Beena Philip inaugurated the branch at a function held on Wednesday.
The all-women branch is located on Cherootty Road which is a hub for traders in the district. The branch will have four women bankers.
This move adds on to other all-women branches launched by HDFC in southern India. The momentous step takes forward the bank's foundational values of diversity and inclusion said a statement released by HDFC. The statement further stated that HDFC Bank is driving diversity and inclusion within the organization with a special focus on enhancing gender diversity.
As of March 31, 2022, 21.7 percent of the bank’s workforce constituted of women. Their target is to increase the number to 25 percent by 2025, the statement red.
Sanjeev Kumar, Branch Banking Head, South (Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Kerala) stated that the opening of the all-women branch is yet another example of their efforts to take forward gender and diversity initiatives of the bank.
