Prez Droupadi Murmu highlights Contributions of Women in Indian Aviation Sector

During a part of the initiative, "The President with the People" President Droupadi Murmu met with women achievers in the Indian aviation sector to highlight their contributions and foster a closer connection with citizens at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. The President noted that 15 per cent of Air Traffic Controllers, 11 per cent of flight dispatchers, and 9 per cent of aerospace engineers are women, whereas 18 per cent of pilots received commercial licenses last year.

President Murmu praised women's role in civil aviation, citing the Indian government's inclusive efforts. She emphasized equal opportunities, family support, education, and training, and encouraged women to mentor juniors in career choices. She encouraged their continued participation in the civil aviation sector, emphasizing the need for equal opportunities and increased opportunities in the industry.

The President noted, "It is often seen that many women are not able to fulfill their dreams even after receiving higher education due to a lack of support from the family." Due to the inclusive efforts from the Central Government, "More and more women are now choosing aviation as their career."
