A 17-year-old Indian girl from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has won a 77,000 USD (INR 58,92,294) scholarship from Huron University in Canada.
Radha Hari, a grade 12 student at the Indian High School in Oud Metha, was awarded a scholarship in Canada in honour of her leadership and youth empowerment activities in the UAE.
Radha is the only student from the Arab region to receive the scholarship this year.
Radha said, “By getting the presidential scholarship, I’ve been able to take a huge weight off my parents’ shoulders, and it has also opened a lot of doors for my personal and career development.”
She aspires to become a Chartered Financial Analyst after finishing her education.
Radha advocated for women's empowerment and hosted workshops where students could get college admissions guidance.
She and some of her friends formed the Girl Up group, which tries to raise awareness about topics such as breast cancer, bullying, mental health, and prejudice, among other difficulties that young people encounter.
