President Murmu Praises Tribal Women in Nation's Development

President of India, Draupadi Murmu addressed a community of tribal women working for Self Help Groups on 14 February 2024 at Beneshwar Dham, Rajasthan. Her speech included a number of significant topics including India's need to become self-reliant and that this is possible only when every part of the nation works independently. Self-help groups were praised by the President for promoting independence. These organizations contribute to the creation of social and human capital in addition to working capital.
She added that the tribal communities are great examples of self-governance. They can teach society how to live peacefully in balance with the natural world, utilizing little resources without endangering it. The President stressed the value of growth led by women. Women should be encouraged to pursue education and skill development so they can participate equally in the growth of their nation and the world as a whole. She emphasized her belief that women will be essential in transforming India into a developed country.
The President recognized the historical and modern achievements made by tribal women, including those made during the time of Maharana Pratap. Through their diligence and commitment, modern tribal women are redefining their communities and themselves and setting a positive example for others.
