President Murmu Participates in Ravan Dahan

President Droupadi Murmu and Union cabinet minister Dr Harsh Vardhan attended the Shri Dharmik Leela Committee's Ramlila at Red Fort. The President of India compared Ravana to modern challenges like corruption, inequality, illiteracy, climate change, and terrorism, emphasizing the need for unity to fight these issues. The 60-foot-tall effigy was illuminated with electronic lights. She was the archer of this year's Ravana Dahan.
Draupadi Murmu, the chief guest at the Shri Dharmik Leela Committee event, emphasized the need for unity to tackle challenges like corruption, inequality, illiteracy, climate change, and terrorism, similar to Lord Ram.Lord Ram, who united society to fight Ravana, encourages countrymen to unite against current Ravanas.
The President emphasized the importance of farmers, soldiers, scientists, and politicians in fighting for their borders, highlighting Dussehra as a symbol of victory over evil and truth, and inspiring idol incorporation. She added Dussehra was a symbol of "burai pe achai or asatya pe satya ki jeet". The President emphasized that Dussehra is a significant festival in the country that encourages people to incorporate idols into their lives.
Navratri, a 10-day festival, ended with a fiery display of Ravanas, symbolizing victory over evil. Political and film industry figures participated in events, including a Ramlila at Red Fort where an arrow was fired at a tall Ravana effigy.Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, and actor Kangana Ranaut aimed an arrow at Ravana's effigy at the Lav Kush Ramlila Committee-organized Ramlila at Red Fort.
The city ban on firecrackers has led to acoustics replicating the sound of Ravana dahan, with the tallest effigy at the Shri Ramlila Society being 110 feet tall. Prime Minister Narendra Modi set the effigy on fire during Dussehra.
