President Murmu launches IIMB's Golden Jubilee Foundation Week

According to a release, Draupadi Murmu, President of India inaugurated the Golden Jubilee Foundation Week of IIM Bangalore on 26 October, 2023. She addressed at the inauguration the institute that IIM Bangalore aims to develop managers, leaders, and change-makers through their quality education. The institute's logo, 'Tejasvi Navadhitamastu', promotes self-development, enlightenment, and talent discovery, fostering a strong vision and mission for change.

IIM Bangalore is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a grand Foundation Week at IIMB's Bannerghatta Road Campus. The event was attended by the IIMB Chairperson, Board of Governors, Devi Prasad Shetty, Director of IIMB, Rishikesha T Krishnan, Dean, Faculty members, students, and staff.

The President of India praised IIMB for addressing national challenges, driving economic growth, and employing students. She praised the institute's innovation, entrepreneurship through NSRCEL, and digital learning initiatives, highlighting its impact on the economy and bridging digital value. IIMB is recognized globally for its Positive Impact Ratings. It has celebrated India's 75th Independence 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' through various activities and programs, Data Center and Analytics Lab (DCAL), and bridges the digital divide by helping students access MOOCs and mainstream knowledge economy.

President Murmu added that the Centre for Public Policy supports skill development in districts through the Mahatma Gandhi National Fellowship program. The NSRCEL supported by the National Commission for Women has seen an increase in women enrolling in its online programs, especially during the pandemic period. It impacted nearly 3,000 women entrepreneurs and promoted leadership development in women.

The President also launched 'Swarna Twaran', a 50-hour Golden Jubilee relay walkathon on campus by students, faculty, staff, and alumni of the institute. The flag was presented to Sourav Mukherjee, dean of Alumni Relations and Development. This walkathon aims to spread the message of healthy, sustainable living by discovering the endurance capacity within oneself.
