President Droupadi Murmu stated that "we need to shift the idea that raising children and taking care of the home is only the job of women."
She added that families would only be empowered by the empowerment of women and that empowered families would result in an empowered society and an enabled nation.
She said that a woman should receive more help from her family so that she could advance to the highest office in her career without any obstacles.
At the Om Shanti Retreat Center of the Brahmakumaris in Gurugram, the President was opening a national conference on "Women as Foundation of Valuation Society" and starting an all-India awareness program titled "Empowering the Family." She claimed that the convention's theme was extremely pertinent given the significant influence women have on the morals and values of Indian culture.
She expressed her satisfaction that the Brahmakumaris association had made an effort to resurrect Indian ideals by placing women at the forefront. President Droupadi stated, "This is the largest spiritual institution administered by women in the globe, and more than 46 thousand sisters of this institution are preserving Indian culture and spirituality in over 140 countries."
In her remarks on women's emancipation, she claimed that if women had equal opportunity, they fared on par with men and occasionally even better in every profession. She saw that there was an increase in women's engagement in numerous sectors.
Many of them, though, were unable to claim the top spot. Over a certain threshold, there has been a decline in women's participation in middle-level management in the private sector. Family obligations served as the primary motivator in this.
She pointed out that working women typically have to balance caring for their homes and careers. The President stated that there was more competition now. People chased wealth, influence, notoriety, and status.
Being financially secure had no negative effects, but living primarily for money was improper. "Economic development and material wealth can provide us temporary delight, but not enduring peace. Divine happiness is accessible through a spiritual existence, she continued.
President Droupadi noted that mother nature was always inclusive while discussing the mother's place in the family. She never made any distinctions between her kids. Because of this, Mother Nature is another name for nature.
"Mother is the family's first instructor, as we all know. She not only presents the infant to the family and surroundings, but she also instills in the youngster the prevalent ideals. Mothers must instill the proper values in their children as a result. "They should inspire children into becoming excellent human beings instead of making them career-conscious from an early age," she remarked.
