The Bhagat Phool Singh Mahila Vishwavidyalaya (BPSMV) in Khanpur Kalan has been granted Rs. 20 crores under the PM-USHA initiative. The Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (PM-USHA) initiative funding program, approved by the Union Ministry of Education, supports state government universities in achieving equity, access, and excellence, enhancing research and academic growth for women's universities.

According to Prof. Sudesh, the Prime Minister will digitally introduce the projects funded by this initiative. On February 20, the launch would take place virtually in the conference room close to the vice-chancellor's office.

According to the VC, the PM-USHA program, which is a continuation of the former RUSA scheme, has been approved by the Union Ministry of Education to enable state government universities and colleges to meet the goals of excellence, equity, and access. Prof. Sudesh mentioned that this funding would have a significant effect on the women's university's academic development and research.

PM-USHA is a government-sponsored scheme by the Ministry of Education in India, aimed at improving the quality and accessibility of higher education. It includes curriculum enhancement, teacher training, infrastructure development, accreditation, and employability. Previously known as Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA), it provides strategic funding to eligible state higher education institutions.
