Phula Soren Named Vice Captain of Indian Blind Women's Cricket Team ahead of IBSA's World Games in UK

The new vice-captain of the Indian Blind Women's Cricket team has been selected which will compete in the Blind Sports Federation (IBSA) World Games in Birmingham, UK, in 2023.
Phula Soren who belongs to Odhisa has been appointed as the vice-captain by the Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI) along with the men's and women's captains of the Indian Blind Cricket team who will compete for their nation in the World Games.
Varsha Umapathi (B1 Category) of Karnataka will lead the women's cricket team and Phula Soren (B3 Category) will serve as the vice-captain as per the statement released.
The men's team will be led by Ajay Kumar Reddy Illuri, a B2 Category player whereas Venkateswara Rao Dunna will serve as the vice-captain.
This will be the maiden entry of both the women's and men's teams in the World Games, said CABI Chairman Mahantesh G Kivadasannavar. During the past ten years, the men's team for the blind has secured three T20 World Cups, two ODI World Cups, and Asia Cup. The women's team and men's team have also received their jerseys. From 18 August to 27 August 2013, the World Games have been scheduled.
