Para-Badminton Player Nithya Sre grabs Bronze at Paris 2024 Paralympics

Nithya Sre Sumathy Sivan, a talented para-badminton player from Hosur, Tamil Nadu, won the bronze medal in the women's singles SH6 category at the Paris Paralympics 2024. She pulled off a comfortable win against Indonesia's Rina Marlina in straight games (21-14, 21-6) during the bronze medal playoff.
India's 19-year-old para-shuttler, Nithya grabbed the medal bringing India's medal count to 15. Inspired by the Rio Paralympics, she shifted her focus to badminton after the 2020 lockdown. Nithya has clinched multiple medals in international competitions, including bronzes at the Asian Para Games 2022, World Championships 2022 and 2024, and 4 Nations Para-Badminton International 2024.
So far, India is placed in 15th position securing 15 medals on the 6th day of the Paris 2024 Paralympics:
