Over 1.13 Lakh Mumbai Women Receive Covid-19 Vaccine during Special Session

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said that a total of 1,13,945 women received the vaccine against COVID-19 in Mumbai in a single day (Sep 27). The Mumbai civic body and the Maharashtra government had launched an exclusive session which was spread across various centres in Mumbai. The BMC had organized a special vaccination session for women from 10 am to 6 pm.
Within one day a sum total of 1,26,419 vaccine doses were administered across all active vaccination centres, including private ones across Mumbai.
The BMC is now carrying out a special session to administer vaccine doses to students and teachers against COVID-19 on Tuesday. To be run across the centres run by the Mumbai civic body and the Maharashtra government, the special session will run between 9 am to 2 pm today.
According to BMC’s data, a total of 1,18,86,221 doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been given to beneficiaries in Mumbai so far. Of them, 38,98,711 are now fully vaccinated.
Mumbai’s COVID-19 tally stands at 7,41,617 as of Monday, leaving the financial capital with 4,702 active cases.
On a national scale as well India has been increasing the pace of vaccination drives rapidly. A total of 26.041 cases fresh COVID 19 cases were registered on Monday, marking a three day continued decline in number of cases below the 30,000 mark.
Sep 27th was also the fifth time that one crore COVID-19 vaccines were administered across the the country informed Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya.
