Over 100 Women Donate to the International Rescue Committee in the Fourth Quarter

The Tallahassee International Rescue Committee (IRC) is the lucky recipient of the fourth quarter grant from the 100+ Women Who Care Tallahassee Chapter.
By aiding their integration and road to self-sufficiency, the IRC Tallahassee's objective is to provide comprehensive services to refugees, entrants, victims of human trafficking, and other qualifying immigrants living in Leon County and Northwest Florida. The IRC offers assistance to individuals who require it as they rebuild their lives and take charge of their future in their new neighbourhood.
During the crucial first few months after arriving in the country, IRC Tallahassee provides as a free one-stop shop for all of the needs of refugees. Assuring that children are enrolled in school, helping people find employment or launch enterprises, and obtaining medical treatment are just a few of the many services available.
IRC supports immigrants in learning English, American culture, and becoming citizens.
Leann Halsey, the site manager, and Leah Costigan, the community engagement coordinator, are in charge of the 20-person IRC Tallahassee workforce. It is anticipated to use a portion of the $27,500 received to add new employees to their staff and introduce some new initiatives to meet the continuously growing demand for existing services.
Donations of $213,600 have been made to various NGOs in the Big Bend region since the organization's founding in November 2020, having a significant impact on the services they offer. Currently, 228 members pledge a $100 donation every three months.
Three NGOs are selected prior to the quarterly meeting by drawing names from member nominations.
A representative from each of these three organisations is invited to the quarterly meeting so they can share their narrative. The group that will receive the funding is then decided by a vote of the members. Members always have the option to participate virtually and cast their votes online if they are unable to come in person.
Women who are interested in joining this organisation may get in touch with Virginal Glass at 100wwctlh@gmail.com. Glass is quite happy of the amazing support that the women in this town have given her as the group keeps expanding each month.
