Under the 'pink vending zone' initiative, the Noida Authority has started the process of allocating kiosks and vending space to women around the city. According to authorities, space has been located across the city's 168 sectors, and allotment has begun.
During the first round, 50 female entrepreneurs from the city who want to establish their own businesses will be allocated funds.
In fact, the Authority had already identified over 4,000 street vendors who need rehabilitation. Officials also stated that the initiative will provide at least five to ten kiosks in each vending zone or work circle to female candidates.
Prasun Dwivedi, the OSD, addressed the Authority, “going forward, we will block a certain number of slots for only female applicants. But we have to evaluate the response through the first scheme before deciding anything.”
