Nirmala Sitharaman, the Union Finance Minister, expressed her optimism that the two nations' relationship would continue to strengthen, noting that the US and India are establishing the groundwork for a strong, calm, and harmonious international community.
During a luncheon held at India House and sponsored by Indian Ambassador Taranjit Singh Sandhu, Nirmala Sitharaman remarked, "We are unified and laying strong foundations for a healthy, peaceful, and harmonious global society." We will all work together to ensure that the relationship between the United States of America and India continues to grow, she added.
Taranjit, Kurt Campbell, the coordinator for Indo-Pacific Affairs for the National Security Council, Gina Raimondo, the US secretary of commerce, and others were also present at the reception. The Union Budget Minister also spoke at the event on the variety and celebration of many festivals to usher in the new year.
She remarked, "Seeing lively people in front of me, all here to celebrate their own Vishu, Ugadi, and Navroz, is tremendously encouraging. but they're all in India House. All of these people call India home. This kind has also always been present. This is a country that celebrates holidays, appreciating its individuality and doing it in accordance with the fortunate calendar that each of us observes based on the sun, moon, or horoscope. They are all together at the same time as a result.
She also referred to Bhimrao Ambedkar's assertion that he defended and fought for India. She emphasised that despite belonging to the marginalised Dalit community, he participated in the establishment of the new India and worked with experts to draught the constitution. The event's keynote speaker, Nirmala Sitharaman, stressed the importance of the Indian diaspora's engagement.
"You have integrated despite your fond recollections of your own nation. Yet now that you're a member of the US, your economy is prospering. Thus, we perform the same activity. India has achieved considerable progress in terms of digital success even if there are differences across regions, people, and languages inside the country. This is because platforms now offer at least 15 languages, as stipulated by the Indian Constitution. There are no such languages. There are dialects, of course, where people can only talk and write because they lack a script. However the Indian Constitution recognises 15 of them. Also, she said, the bulk of our platforms are now available in regional languages.
Nirmala Sitharaman took part in a conversation on how the public and private sectors may work together on DPI earlier on Saturday in Washington, D.C. The event was sponsored by the IMF and was titled "India's Digital Public Infrastructure - Stacking Up the Benefits." Several facets of climate change are now "hitting us in everyday life," she said during the event.
"Climate is now striking us from various different sides, touching us in everyday life," Nirmala Sitharaman said at a discussion on "Making it Personal: How Behavioral Change Can Fight Climate Change." The World Bank was in charge of planning the event.
In addition to hosting the G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors, the finance minister, who arrived in the US on April 9, participated in a panel discussion on "Empowering Women as Entrepreneurs and Leaders," went to the World Bank-IMF Spring Conference's Development Committee Meeting, and attended (FMCBG).
