National Commission for Women to Conduct Seminar for 'Awareness on Anti-Human Trafficking'

At the Vikas Auditorium of the National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRD), the National Commission for Women (NWC) held a seminar on "Awareness on Anti-Human Trafficking" in collaboration with the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). The event's chief guest, Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan , the Governor of Telangana mentioned that Human Trafficking is an organized crime that tanks third globally. Efforts need to be made to eradicate this crime. The strange marriages between elderly grooms and very young brides can also play a major role in this trafficking which is a matter of concern. To address this issue, strong actions need to be taken and everyone must take on the role of the eyes and ears.
In order to successfully combat Human Trafficking, the governor emphasized the crucial role that women's empowerment plays. Protection of weak populations like children, women, workers, and displaced people was at the top. In order to effectively combat human trafficking, she also described a three-step strategy which is the origin, transit, and destination points of these trafficking networks. The seminar also mentioned the crucial role played by non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in aiding law enforcement officials in the rescue and rehabilitation of trafficked victims while the NCW continues its tireless work on initiatives addressing human trafficking.
