M Appavu, the speaker of Tamil Nadu Assembly launched the Mupperum Vizha titled Namadhu Sagothirigal on Thursday. It is a program designed to raise awareness of the need to increase the enrollment of female students at an Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Radhapuram.
Prior to that, he also laid the foundation for constructing a passenger shelter which will be made in front of the Radhapuram ITI at an estimated amount of Rs 13 lakh. In addition, he provided 110 students with free bicycles. At the ITI, he also dedicated a newly constructed smart classroom.
The TN Assembly speaker addressed the reporters and urged more females to apply for the newly launched vocational course for female students in electric vehicle repair as ITI is not just limited to working outside or requires only men to attend vocational school. Females need to learn and enter the workforce with men in vocational education and for this, the chief minister has brought all the courses to 71 ITIs in Tamil Nadu at a cost of Rs 3,000 crore, stated M Appavu. During the event, many children, vocational teachers, and schoolgirls participated.
