Nagaland hosts 3-day Women's Basketball Tournament

Kohima-based Vision Trinity Club (VTC) organized a three-day women's basketball tournament on Thursday at Loyola Higher Secondary School in Jakhama, Nagaland.
The theme of this year's women's basketball tournament is "Start Unknown, Finish Unforgettable". It is the fifth season of this memorable tournament which will feature seven teams, including Shillong's Touchline Basketball Academy (TBA), All Black, TMB, Loyola, Aces, Orca, and Japfu Christian College (JCC).
Sashila Ozukum, the proprietor and principal of Hope Academy attended the tournament and praised the tournament as it advocates women's empowerment and hygiene through sports. She observed that sports foster qualities such as confidence, discipline, and leadership. Such tournaments support and provide opportunities for Women to showcase their athletic abilities. She even described the tournament as a commitment to the growth and advancement of women in sports.
Principal Sashila hopes that this tournament could be able to pave the way for female athletes so that they can reach greater heights like regional and national competitions.
Tshekulhi Thopi, Vision Trinity Club's Speaker announced the tournament in 2018 aiming at women's empowerment through sports.
Nunese Sale, President of Vision Trinity Club, urged players to showcase their skills and love for the sport, highlighting the tournament's significant role in Nagaland women's sports.
The winner will receive Rs 30,000 and a new running Trophy whereas the runner-up will get Rs 15,000.
