Murugesh R Nirani, the Minister of Karnataka's Large and Medium Industries, announced on Wednesday to provide all feasible help to boost women entrepreneurs in the state, including concessions for women from lower socioeconomic groups.
Addressing women entrepreneurs during the 38th award ceremony of the Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Karnataka (AWAKE), Nirani stated women-owned enterprises are growing significantly. “Today, India has 13.5-15.7 million women-owned enterprises, representing 20% of all enterprises. Women entrepreneurs inspire other women to start businesses, leading to more job creation for women,” Nirani quoted.
Nirani urged aspiring women entrepreneurs to take advantage of government programmes such as Mudra Yojana, Annapurna Scheme, Dena Shakti, TREAD (Trade-Related Entrepreneurship Assistance & Development), Udyogini, Women Skill Training Programme, Samrudhi, and Dhanasree.
“Our ‘Udyami Aagu, Udyoga Needu’ programme is aimed at promoting entrepreneurship among the youths. Karnataka is the first state to announce exclusive industrial parks dedicated to women in Mysuru, Dharwad, Kalaburagi, and Harohalli,” Nirani said.
Murugesh Nirani, following the demise of Puneeth Rajkumar, has decided to pay homage to the great actor. After the late actor, he decided to name the stage of the 'Udyami Aagu, Udyoga Needu' (Be an Entrepreneur, Become an Employer) programme after him. The death of Puneeth Rajkumar shook millions across the country, as celebrities and fans lamented the loss of the much-loved actor.
Mentioning the late actor's entrepreneurship skills, Nirani praised him for encouraging young talent in his films by saying, "Puneeth not only excelled as an actor but also proved his entrepreneurship skills as a producer. He gave opportunities to new talents in films through his PRK Production and earned praises from everyone."
"He helped thousands of students especially girl students get free education. He had also extended a helping hand to old and destitute and cow care centres, but never sought publicity. Puneeth's conduct and his noble deeds are worthy of emulation," Nirani added.
