Madhya Pradesh's government has approved a 35 per cent reservation for women in state government job openings, aiming to bridge gender gaps and boost inclusivity. The decision was led by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla. The reservation will be implemented in all recruitments through the state Public Service Commission (MPPSC) and the Employees Selection Board (ESB). Other measures were also approved including 254 new fertilizer sales centers and a 660 MW thermal power plant in Sarni.
Deputy CM Rajendra mentioned "The decision was taken earlier, and today, it was approved by the state cabinet. It is a major step toward women's empowerment." He said that these new fertilizer sales centers will alleviate long queues for fertilizer as they will provide a streamlined and hassle-free way for the farmers through cash payments. The new thermal power plant will generate more energy addressing the issue of electricity. He also stated that the age limit for Assistant Professors recruitment in Medical Colleges will be 50 years now.
The Deputy CM further highlighted the success of the Regional Industrial Conclave in Rewa, which attracted 4,000 investors and business leaders, generating investment proposals worth Rs 31,000 crore and creating over 28,000 jobs. The conclaves are a part of the "Invest Madhya Pradesh-Global Investor Summit-2025" in Bhopal
