Minister Jitin Prasada highlights growth of Women-led Startups in India during 4th IIGF

The 4th edition of the India Internet Governance Forum (IIGF) on the theme "Innovating Internet Governance for India" was held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. This year's theme highlights the country's commitment to leveraging the Internet for sustainable, inclusive, and equitable growth. India's Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Jitin Prasada, highlighted the growth of women-led startups in over 600 districts during the event.
He mentioned that India is setting global benchmarks in innovation and inclusivity with over 1.4 billion citizens and nearly 1 billion Internet users. He emphasized how government initiatives have reduced the digital divide, brought technology to rural communities, and enabled opportunities for all. He said, "Today, 95 per cent of our villages are linked to 3G-4G connectivity, and our startup ecosystem has reached over 600 districts, with more than half led by women."
India's Minister of State Prasada emphasized the country's rapid digital transformation as a model for the world. He emphasized the need for collective efforts to shape digital policies based on equality, transparency, and sustainability. He also highlighted India's vision to position itself as a global leader in AI, aiming to make AI work for India and for all.
