The Union Government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has offered "Suvidha, Suraksha, Samman" to women for the past nine years. Thoughtfully designed initiatives like Ujjwala for gas connections, Swachhta for female restrooms, and Jal Jeevan for home tap water not only made life easier for women but also helped them feel confident and self-esteemed.
Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology, MoS PMO, Department of Atomic Energy and Department of Space, and MoS Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pensions, addressed to a group of Modi scheme beneficiaries, the majority of whom were women, in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh.
According to Dr. Jitendra Singh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has prioritized Nari Shakti in India's growth process. Mission Shakti includes the "Sambal" and "Samarthya" sub-schemes for the security, protection, and empowerment of women. The results of this strategy are clear evidence of its effectiveness, including an increase in institutional deliveries, a decline in infant mortality, and a decreased incidence of maternal death. The sex ratio at birth has also improved, reaching 1020 women for every 1000 men for the first time.
According to Dr. Jitendra Singh, the Ujjwala Yojana's increased use of LPG cylinders has prevented millions of women from developing chronic respiratory diseases by creating smoke-free kitchens. Women can now use the toilets in their houses without worrying about their safety or losing their sense of dignity because of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan's achievement. As more families nationwide receive tap water connections under the Jal Jeevan Mission, lengthy walks to gather water for daily usage are becoming a thing of the past. At Jan Aushadhi Kendras, more than 27 crore sanitary pads have been sold for one rupee.
Women are on the path of prosperity, he concluded that it is women-led development and not women’s development in today's time.
