Manipal Academy of BFSI & Axis Bank launch Young Bankers Cohort promoting Gender Inclusion

The Manipal Academy of BFSI and Axis Bank have launched a women-exclusive Young Bankers Cohort to promote gender inclusion in the banking sector. The program, which includes classroom training, internships, on-the-job training, workshops on stress management, career development, and gender sensitization aims to groom young graduates for successful careers in banking. The initiative has grown from 31 per cent to 38 per cent in female participation, with 700 women participating in the FY 2024-25 cohort.
The Young Bankers Program has trained over 16,000 graduates over a year, increasing female participation. The three-month internships at Axis Bank across India along with five months of on-the-job training were announced at the diversity cohort inaugurated by Rajkamal Vempati, President & Head of Human Resources at Axis Bank at the MABFSI Campus, Bengaluru. Continuous assessments and interventions measure program success.
The Axis Bank Young Bankers Program is a one-year course that includes four months of classroom training at the MABFSI campus, three-month internships, and five months of on-the-job training along with covering banking fundamentals. Graduates receive a Post Graduate Diploma in Banking Services from MAHE, aiming for 50 per cent diversity.
