Manika Batra, an Indian Paddler, achieves a Career-High Position in the TT World Rankings

In the latest ITTF Table Tennis World Rankings, issued on Tuesday, Indian paddler Manika Batra gained 10 places to a career-high ranking of 38 in women's singles.

Last week, the Olympian was ranked 48th in women's singles. Batra broke into the top 50 earlier this year, rising to 46th place in March, her previous career high, before falling to 48th place.

Batra, who is 26 years old, is India's top-ranked women's singles table tennis player, followed by Archana Kamath, who is rated 66th and has gone up 26 places this week. The two Indian table tennis players in the top 100 are Sreeja Akula (68th) and Reeth Tennison (97th).

Sutirtha Mukherjee, a Tokyo Olympian, lost 22 places to 119th place. Ayhika Mukherjee has also dropped six places to 121st.

Batra is also ranked in the top ten in both mixed and women's doubles. Manika and Archana Kamath, who finished fourth in the women's doubles rankings after winning bronze at the WTT Star Contender Doha in March, have maintained their fourth place. The next best-ranked Indian team is Sutirtha and Ayhika, who are rated 29th.

Manika and Sathiyan Gnanasekaran, silver medalists at the WTT Contender Doha 2022, improved to sixth place in mixed doubles. According to an olympics.com article, Archana Kamath and Harmeet Desai, finalists at the WTT Contender Muscat, are still in 22nd place in the mixed doubles standings.

Sathiyan Gnanasekaran, the top-ranked Indian in the men's singles, has moved up five places to 34th. Sathiyan moved ahead of his senior colleague Sharath Kamal, who is now 37th after gaining a single spot.

The top five Indians in the global singles rankings are Manush Shah (109), Snehit Suravajjula (114), and Manav Thakkar (115). The best-placed Indian men's doubles pair is G Sathiyan and Harmeet Desai, who are 28th, and Sathiyan and Sharath Kamal, who are 35th.
