Mahindra Logistics & Institute of Supply Chain Management Join Forces to Empower Women in Indian Logistics Industry

Mahindra Logistics Ltd. partnered with the Institute of Supply Chain Management (ISCM) to host an enlightening discussion on the topic of 'Women in Logistics and Supply Chain'. The event, held at 'The Orchid Hotel' in Mumbai, aimed to shed light on gender diversity and equitable opportunities within the supply chain sector.
The dialogue provided a platform for leaders in the supply chain and logistics industry to exchange insights, discuss challenges, and propose solutions. Distinguished panelists included industry experts like Rampraveen Swaminathan, MD & CEO of Mahindra Logistics Ltd., Dr. Rakesh Singh, Chairman of ISCM, Sanjiv Navangul, MD & CEO of Bharat Serums and Vaccines Limited, Florence Petit, Country Head – Supply Chain Management at Legrand India, and other influential figures.
The partnership between Mahindra Logistics and ISCM signifies a collective effort to drive positive change and promote inclusivity in the logistics field. The collaboration marked the second phase of the Water Drop Initiative, which had proven successful in its initial run.
The Water Drop Initiative focuses on equipping women small-scale farmers with Smart Farming technology to enhance their agricultural practices. This technology enables them to produce more food using less water, thereby contributing to food security and sustainability. The solar-powered system ensures efficient water distribution, resulting in up to 80% water savings.
Dr. Rakesh Singh, Chairman of ISCM, emphasized the significance of increased participation of women in management roles for business success. The dialogue aimed to challenge gender stereotypes and outline a path towards an inclusive and equitable industry.
Rampraveen Swaminathan, MD & CEO of Mahindra Logistics, highlighted the evolving landscape where women are making strides in executive positions and emphasized providing growth opportunities for continuous development. He stressed the importance of offering leadership roles based on talent and expertise, thereby empowering women to lead.
