Maharashtra Women's Commission wants to Establish Panel to Find Missing Women

Rupali Chakankar, the head of the Maharashtra State Commission for Women (MSCW), has directed the stated home department to form a team that will find out the missing women in the state and report on its progress every fortnight.
Around 3,594 women have been missing between 1 January and 31 March 2023, in which some of the females have been found. The missing women and girls from the state are a matter of concern, Rupali stated on Monday.
Rupali had a meeting with Deepak Pandey who is the Special Inspector General of Police (women and child crime prevention); Assistant Secretary of the state home department Rahul Kulkarni; MSCW Deputy Chairperson, Deepa Thakur; and Virendra Neve who is the Legal Expert. After the meeting, she addressed the media.
She stated that the current teams don’t include any police officers. Whereas two agents were caught from Mumbai's Sakinaka area who were seducing women and sending them abroad. She even claimed that the Bharosa cell and the Missing cell are only active on paper.
The missing of women in the state is a severe issue. A huge number of women and girls missing who are between the age of 16 to 35. The missing females may be traced into West Asian countries if not found immediately. 82 females who went missing from Pune and Pimpiri Chinchwad areas have gone abroad and are now untraceable.
