At the event, the Lt. Governor dedicated the facility to all the female entrepreneurs and officially opened and lay the foundation stone for New District Rural Haats throughout J&K.
"We are proud that lakhs of women entrepreneurs around the UT are making valuable contributions to uplift the rural economy with single-minded pursuit of excellence through creativity and hard work," the Lt Governor said.
The Lt. Governor noted that it is women business owners in remote rural areas who keep socioeconomic progress going, assisting the government in reducing inequities and inequalities in society and fostering speedier growth through employment and equity.
The Lt. Governor emphasised the changes made by the government to recognise women's ability in leadership positions and provide them the chance to expand their enterprises.
He noted that programmes by the government like Saath, Hausla, Umeed, and Tejaswini created a solid foundation for rural women's financial independence.
The ability to transform women Self Help Groups is being made possible by technology, market dynamics, and financial inclusion. According to the Lt. Governor, they are effectively carving out a niche for their goods in a brutally competitive worldwide market and assisting other women in achieving financial independence.
56,000 Self-Help Groups are home to up to 5 lakh women. The Lt Governor noted that this year, 1.5 lakh more female entrepreneurs will receive help and support.
The Lt. Governor emphasised the need to recognise 75 forward-thinking women business owners from Rural Livelihood Mission Self-Help Groups on August 15 in recognition of their commitment to women's emancipation.
The Self Help Group Product Catalogue and the gift basket from JKRLM were both unveiled by the Lt. Governor. The Lt Governor presented Micro ATMs and recognised the top-performing Sakhies to honour the occasion.
The government would develop provisions to allow government departments to purchase goods from SHGs, according to Chief Secretary Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta.
Ms. Indu Kanwal Chib, the mission director for JKRLM, provided a thorough explanation of the steps done to help and aid SHGs and rural women entrepreneurs.
A district-based packaging facility is being established by Rural Livelihood Mission to enable improved packaging and branding of Self Help Groups' products. In addition to this, it was stated that the Start Up Village Enterprise Program will also set up roughly 2600 individual businesses, and that a micro food processing campaign is also being launched for female entrepreneurs.
The Lt Governor had earlier examined the live stalls that the SHG groups had set up.
On this occasion, Mandeep Kaur, Commissioner/Secretary, Rural Development and Panchayati Raj department, was joined by senior officials, SHG members, and female entrepreneurs.
