KIIT is Ranked 8th in the World for SDG 'Reducing Inequalities'

KIIT In the prestigious Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2022, Bhubaneswar, a deemed-to-be-university, was named 8th best university in the world for its excellent success in'reducing disparities.'

Gender equality is one of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) objectives set forth by the United Nations.

The Impact Rankings 2022 report was released on April 28 by the London-based Times Higher Education, which annually ranks institutes and universities on a variety of criteria, including the well-known 'world university ranking.'

The Impact Rankings looked at how committed universities were to sustainability in four areas: research, stewardship, outreach, and teaching.

Only a few Indian universities were included in the list, including KIIT. Securing eighth place demonstrates the university's commitment to academic excellence in all areas. KIIT's high score also reflects its social responsibility and significant contributions to the Sustainable Development Goals.

KIIT and KISS Founder, Prof. Achyuta Samanta lauded the historic achievement and said: "KIIT's position among the world's most impactful universities in the parameter of 'Reducing Inequalities' reflects its enormous contribution in the field over the decades."

He congratulated Chancellor Prof. Ved Prakash, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Sasmita Samanta, faculty, staff, and KIIT students on their outstanding achievement.

While KIIT was ranked 8th in the world for 'Reducing Inequalities,' it was ranked 101-200 out of 1,500 universities from 106 countries for other SDGs like Quality Education, Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, and Partnerships for the Goals. It came in at number 201-300 overall in the rankings.

Since its inception, KIIT has been actively involved in a wide range of social development activities in addition to providing high-quality education and research.

KIIT has a long history of working to reduce disparities. As a result, it is ranked 8th in the world in this SDG criteria, demonstrating KIIT's unwavering dedication to all 17 SDGs through its academic and social outreach programmes.
