U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris lost the battle with the winning of Donald Trump in the 2024 U.S. presidential election. Being the daughter of Indian and Jamaican immigrants, she failed to achieve a big first in the American politics after losing her race to the White House.
With the consideration of winning, she could have secured her place as the first female president in the US. However, she lost in a bitterly contested election, shattering the dreams of her supporters. She is currently holding the position of 49th US Vice President since 2021.
Moreover, Kamala carries many firsts in her career that includes being the highest-ranking female official in the history of the states. She is also the first African American and first Asian American vice president.
VP Kamala has secured 66,264,540 votes while Trump has won 71,202,731 (51%) votes, as per The Guardian. This voting ratio led to Trump’s win in the 2024 elections. Contrastingly, Trump has got 277 electoral votes which led him to become the new US president, winning against the opponent.
While the supporters of Trump are celebrating the winning of their favourite, Kamala’s loss to the elections broke many hearts, specifically Indian, African and American citizens who were in support of her and wanted her to win in the White House.
