Jharkhand to host FIH Hockey Olympics Qualifiers 2024

Jharkhand is set to host the FIH Hockey Olympics Qualifiers Ranchi 2024 from 13 to 19 January 2024, featuring eight global teams, including India, competing for the Paris 2024 Olympics. The prestigious event, held at the Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Astro Turf Hockey Stadium, is expected to attract 5,000 spectators from all over the nation. Initially, the tournament was supposed to be held in China but after the China Women's team directly qualified for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, the location was moved to India.
Hockey India has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to host the FIH Hockey Olympic Qualifiers Ranchi 2024 in Jharkhand, showcasing the nation's commitment to promoting hockey growth and global hockey prowess. The event drew distinguished dignitaries, such as members of the Indian Women's Hockey Team, Secretary Sports Jharkhand, IAS, Shri Manoj Kumar, Director Sports, Jharkhand, IAS, Sushant Gaurav, Secretary General of Hockey India, Shri Bhola Nath Singh, and Treasurer of Hockey India, Shri Sekar J Manoharan.
The signing of the MoU demonstrates India's commitment to promoting hockey growth and global success. Hockey India President Padma Shri Dr Dilip Tirkey expressed enthusiasm for the FIH Hockey Olympic Qualifiers in Ranchi, expressing gratitude for Jharkhand Government's support and aiming for a memorable tournament.
The FIH Hockey Olympic Qualifiers Ranchi 2024 will showcase India's exceptional hockey talent and passion, aiming to qualify the Indian Women's Hockey Team for the 2024 Paris Olympics. The event, scheduled in the coming week of January will showcase skill, teamwork, and sportsmanship on the turf.
