Jharkhand government launches "Mukhya Mantri Bahan Beti Swabalamban Yojana" cash transfer scheme, providing financial assistance to poor and needy women aged 25-50. The scheme, inspired by West Bengal's "Lakshmir Bhandar" program, is expected to cost Rs 1,000 per month. Chief Minister Champai Soren emphasized women's empowerment and family roles, directing officials to ensure timely benefits for eligible women.

Chief Minister of Jharkhand had a meeting with the Women, Child Development and Social Security Department where the scheme was finalized but it requires approval from the finance department and the cabinet. CM mentioned, "Our government is committed to ensuring better education to the women, continuous improvement in their health and nutrition level, women empowerment, and the decisive role of women in the family."

The chief minister of Jharkhand has directed officials of the Information Technology Department to prepare for an old-age pension scheme that includes women, tribals, and Dalits above 50. The scheme, which provides monthly benefits of Rs 1,000, was approved in January and will be implemented soon. He further instructed officials to expedite preparations to ensure the scheme benefits eligible women within the specified time frame.
