The JD Institute of Fashion Technology is offering a comprehensive training program to a Maharashtra State Skill Competition finalist, Madhuri Surase. The program aims to enhance her skills and knowledge in fashion technology, preparing her for the India Skills Competition 2024. The training aligns with national quality standards and prepares her for future opportunities in the fashion industry.
The Confederation of the Indian Industry (CII) entrusted the Surat Corporate Campus with a training program under the institute's professional fashion faculty which guided Madhuri Surase to excel in Pattern-making, Garment Construction, and Draping. The finalist achieved a Bronze medal in the Fashion Technology Category at the India Skills competition, showcasing exceptional performance and surpassing benchmarks through a rigorous training regimen.
Madhuri underwent a three-day training session with the faculty, focusing on garment categories. She created various garments, including a satin top, a cotton-printed top, a sweetheart neck dress, a single-breasted formal blazer, and a formal pair of trousers. The training helped her understand fabric complexities and finishing techniques, allowing her to tailor the curriculum to her specific needs.
The India Skills Competition, organized by the National Skill Development Corporation, is India's largest skill competition, aiming to showcase youth talents on national and international stages. It collaborates with state governments, industry partners, and educational institutions. India has participated in the WorldSkills Competitions since 2007, securing 11th position in 2022.
