IWIL India launched the decade’s largest Tech Design Conference - Tech Supergirl to empower, incubate and accelerate women in the technical space in India and to make them self-reliant and capable enough to secure their livelihoods.
IWIL (Indian Women Institutional League) is a non-profit organization and a national brand that empowers women entrepreneurs in 25 cities and has partnered with over 20,000 women and MSME partners. They have a world-class forum for women's entrepreneurship incubation and acceleration.
Entrepreneurial and Incubation Workshops, Awareness Campaigns, Fundraising, Exhibitions and Roadshows, Business Coaching, Connect Academy, and Technology Development Programs are among the premier programs and activities offered by IWIL.
IWIL India's Tech Supergirl Technology Incubation Program focuses on skill growth and job creation for over 25,000 women in the technology sector every year.
The participation of women in labour markets in India has witnessed a steady decline in the last two decades. As per the data released by World Bank in June 2020, India’s female labour force participation is the lowest in South Asia. IWIL India is concerned about the decreasing female labour force participation rate in India's GDP and aims to close the gap by increasing women's GDP participation from 18 percent to 50 percent.
"Tech Supergirl envisages to pursue the vision of Aatma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan and to ace women entrepreneurship in India. For this, we are empowering, incubating, and raising women in technology, as it is the center core to a self-reliant nation, a surging GDP and thrust in the economic potential “says Deepa Sayal, Chief Patron, IWIL India.
This year, the Tech Supergirl initiative will reach over 2.5 lakh women, with a goal of 3 million women in business, technology, and academia by 2030. With women becoming more resilient and multi-tasking, Tech Supergirl aims to build 25,000+ jobs in India's tech skills field by 2030, including Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, IoT, Blockchain, Data Analytics, Augmentation, and much more.
This Tech-Design conference drew 80+ start-ups, 15 CIOs and CTOs, 10+ partners, 250 CEOs, and more than 500 women from across India, including aspiring women entrepreneurs, technology stakeholders, and women in the industry.
