With flag off by Commander Abhilash Tomy (Retd.), a renowned circumnavigator, INSV Tarini voyaged on the journey from Goa on February 28, 2024. Following the successful navigation of the vast Indian Ocean, they reached Mauritius, on March 21, 2024 after 22 days.
This grand accomplishment was celebrated with series of events that included interactions with Mauritian government officials and the Indian High Commission followed by a training sortie with Mauritian Coast Guard personnel which was conducted by vessel in order to strengthen the equation between the 2 maritime nations.
Followed by the success of this expedition, Lieutenant Commanders Dilna and Roopa are now all set to voyage on an even bigger challenge which is a global circumnavigation expedition ‘Sagar Parikrama- IV’ that has been scheduled to take place in September, 2024. This shall ensure that all-woman crews can reach greater heights in India with all the strength.
