Saika Ishaque, a left-arm spinner who thrilled everyone in the first Women's Premier League (WPL), was called up for the first time for India's three-match Twenty20 International series against England, which begins in Mumbai on December 6.
The majority of the Asian Games gold-winning squad in Hangzhou made up the T20I squad, which features a good mix of juniors and seniors.
Seasoned players like captain Harmanpreet Kaur and her deputy Smriti Mandhana, as well as players like Deepti Sharma, Jemimah Rodrigues, Shafali Verma, and Pooja Vastrakar, are on one end of the spectrum, while rookies like spinner Mannat Kashyap, bowlers Kanika Ahuja and Shreyanka Patil, and skillful pacer Titas Sadhu are on the other end of the selections.
Karnataka left-hander Shubha Satheesh, who was recognized for her tenacious batting in national one-dayers, has also been named for the upcoming matches.
Shreyanka Patil, a promising all-rounder from Karnataka, has been named in the Indian women's team for the T20 series against England, a three-match series in Mumbai from 6 to 7 December. Shreyanka was part of the India emerging teams Asia Cup squad that won the title earlier this year.
